Muscat and Qurum City Centre gear up for Muscat Festival

Leisure trip to Disneyland Paris, instant prizes daily, interactive activities and entertainment for the whole family on offer

Muscat and Qurum City Centre have announced their sponsorship of and participation at this year’s most anticipated Muscat Festival. Starting January 23rd until February 28th, family-focused events will be hosted at both malls, engaging the community to be part of the cultural event.

Held annually since 1998 by the Muscat Municipality, the Muscat Festival commemorates the past and present cultures and civilizations of the Sultanate. Last year, the event welcomed over a million visitors in Oman.

“In line with Majid Al Futtaim’s vision in creating great moments for everyone every day, Muscat City Centre is pleased to partner with Muscat Festival. Our commitment as sponsors demonstrates our support towards the government’s initiatives with a hope to strengthen the camaraderie among the community and the Sultanate’s tourism aspirations. In conjunction with the festival, we are also opening the doors of our newly enhanced facilities – the food court and Magic Planet - to provide more options to our guests,” said Husam Al Mandhari, Senior Mall Manager at Muscat City Centre.

Celebrating the re-opening of the newly renovated food court and Magic Planet at Muscat City Centre, the mall will host family entertainment and competitions in the form of tournaments over three weekends, which will be aired, live on local radio. Participants will battle it out over air hockey, basketball, racing games and many more to win exciting prizes. To register and know more about the schedule of activities, please visit Magic Planet’s counter or Muscat City Centre’s Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/MuscatCityCentre.

“Muscat Festival is a major cultural event in the Sultanate that Qurum City Centre is proud to be part of it as sponsors. Committed to providing memorable moments for the whole family, Qurum City Centre will be hosting family entertainment and interactive activities for children and cross promotions between retailers to reward loyal shoppers,” said Watfa Humaid Al Harthy, Senior Mall Manager at Qurum City Centre.

Qurum City Centre invites families to celebrate and join in the fun as the mall hosts interactive and educational activities such as an illusionist that children will surely enjoy, and a trickster who will roam around the mall to amuse the crowd with fun tricks. For up-to-date information on entertainment, competition and prize draws, please follow Qurum City Centre on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/QurumCityCentre.

Also a joint promotion between Muscat and Qurum City Centre will be running, where shoppers who spend OMR 15 from any store located in either mall, will be entered into the grand prize draw to win one of two luxury trips to Disneyland Paris for the whole family. This is inclusive of two adults and two kids below 12 years of age, and paid accommodation for five nights per family. What’s more, any OMR 15 spend in Carrefour at either mall entitles shoppers to spin the Wheel of Fortune to win instant prizes from dining outlets in the new food court, Magic Planet and more.

Muscat and Qurum City Centre have been long standing supporters of Muscat Festival and complement the city-wide celebration with compelling entertainment and promotions. More family activities and entertainment will be hosted by the Muscat Municipality at the malls.
